The Student Engagement & Career Development Center is committed to supporting students in all things career-related, from creating a plan and developing in-demand skills, to making connections and securing career opportunities.
Optional Practical Training
Optional Practical Training, or OPT, gives F-1 visa students the opportunity to work in the U.S. in their field of study for up to 1 year after completing their degree. For STEM students, DHS can provide a 24-month extension of OPT with employers in the eVerify program.
