Scholarships
The University of Arizona offers a range of merit based scholarships to incoming freshmen and transfer students.
First-Year Student
The University of Arizona offers two scholarships to first-year students: the First-Year Global Wildcat Award and the Gatos MX Discount.
The First-Year Global Wildcat Award is a merit based scholarship offered to first-year students. The amount of the award is based on your grade point average (GPA) that calculated during the admission process by converting your grading system to the US GPA grading system. The table included here gives you a sense of the range of scholarship amounts provided by the Global Wildcat Award.
The Gatos MX Discount is partial tuition discount offered to first-year Mexican students from the states of Baja California, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Sonora. Click here for more information about the Gatos MX Scholarship.
How To Be Considered
Students are automatically considered for the Global Wildcat Award and Gatos MX Discount during the admissions process. The award will be automatically applied if the student qualifies.

Transfer Student
The Transfer Global Wildcat Award is a merit based scholarship offered to incoming transfer students. Transfer students are defined as students who have earned 12 or more transferable units taken at a non-U.S. college or university or at a U.S. junior or community college. The amount of the award is based on your grade point average (GPA) that calculated during the admission process.
If you are coming from a non-U.S. institution, your GPA is calculated by converting your grading system to the US GPA grading system. The table included here gives you a sense of the range of scholarship amounts provided by the Transfer Global Wildcat Award.
